Geography 12 Inquiry Question - Health group

Health   Mar 3, 2017 by Hmwe Lay Naing

Our group is investigating whether or not climate change affects our health.

Inquiry Question:

Is climate change affecting the health of Cranbrook residents?

Some other questions we will be looking into will be:

-Is the increase of Co2 release affecting our health?

-What are the health problems related to this change?

-What can we do to prevent/help with this change?

-What do the extremes of pollution look like + comparison to where we live?

Our plan going forward to is to consult professionals regarding the link between our health, and climate change, as well as further researching impacts in both our area, the province, and the country.

What i found interesting about their inquiry is how they have their main question and then they have other related questions below and they all focus on the same topic. The only similarities between both inquiries is the topic, climate change and health. The big difference between both inquiries is that unlike their inquiry mine does not go into small details as theirs do. They not only focused on the obvious ways climate change is affecting our health as human, they dug deeper into details which allowed them to come up with various questions relating to the exact same topic without constantly repeating themselves.

Your plan to consult with professionals is a very good one. I think it would add a lot of depth and substance to your inquiry. Wishing you all the best with it!

Hi Hmwe Lay,

This sounds very interesting!

Here is a bit of information that can serve as a starting point for your Inquiry: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/ewh-semt/climat/impact/inde...

I look forward to hearing what you come up with!

I find it interesting that we are researching very similar things, but we are learning about how they can effect people very similarly in very dissimilar places. The differences between our research however, is that my community is a small town, as well as the overall demographic is comprised of older persons.
