Climate Change and Maple Syrup (continued)

Environment   Apr 10, 2016 by Quinn Frew

I got my information from working at a sugar bush, http://maple.dnr.cornell.edu/produc/sapflow.htm , and a talk about climate change from the journalist Gwynne Dyer.

The basics of what I found during my research: One of the biggest effects of climate change is the increase in temperature around the globe, and the rising temperatures is what will affect maple syrup production the most. Boiling sap is the only known way to make real maple syrup, and if the temperature rises so much that sap is unable to flow, there will be no maple syrup.

We can stop this from happening by educating the public, stopping the rate CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere, using renewable energy sources instead of burning fossil fuels (the biggest contender of CO2 emissions),and slowing down/ stopping climate change before its too late.
