Impact on water

Apr 20, 2016 by harlyn joy

The question that we chose was "How has climate change affected the water in the GTA?". To reach our question, our group talked about it and gathered our ideas on google doc. We searched all the information on google. This is a great question to remind us and let us know on what's happening to our surroundings and be concern about it.

I found out that water supply has been affected caused by climate change. In arid and semi-arid areas, the occurrence of hotter, drier summers and the increased use of water for irrigation could reduce the supply of water for wetlands, either directly or indirectly (through the effect on the water table), or both. A lower volume of water would increase the concentrations of the pollutants that tend to settle in wetlands (agricultural chemicals, naturally occurring salts, atmospheric pollutants).
