So far in our project we have come up with an inquiry question and came up with a list of questions to ask local farmers in our community. We made sure to make the questions very clear and made sure they were all connected to climate change. I have emailed many farmers. We emailed around 10 farmers in total. We have 1 response so far but 2 are in the works. The response we got was very detailed. My partners and I were very happy to receive it and we got a lot of good information. We used their stories and experiences as our research for the project. Who would know how climate change affects the agriculture in Cowichan valley better than the farmers. Some are retired and others are currently farming. We are starting to plan our videos by creating a story board. We are hoping to make the video using iMovie and illustrate our ideas through that. I would like to make the video both professional but aesthetically pleasing. I think to make a good presentation we need collaborate with other groups as well. I am very excited to work on this project and see what the future holds. This project has made me more aware of my surroundings and I truly want to make a difference if I can. I’m excited to see what other groups have noticed and what information they have.
