Taps OFF! - Clean Seas - Blue Dot - Safe Drinking Water

In 2015/2016 78H created an awareness program called Taps OFF!. Our goal was to use posters, surveys, and word of mouth through social media to raise awareness about unsafe drinking water. Some communities over twenty years. Over 1400 Canadian communities. Over 135 FNMI communities. Our program reached the Mayor's office, the Ecoschool team, and we participated in a national dialogue about water with the SDWF team. Taps OFF! continues to day. We will share more. Here's some of the information that got our attention. 

During the 2015 federal election and throughout the year a lot of media attention was about safe drinking water for FNMI communities. The CBC reported that the U.N. called our situation:

Two-thirds of First Nations have been under at least 1 water advisory between 2004 and 2014
