Being near to the Bay of Quinte Mohawk Territory came in handy as we were looking for answers to our question. We knew exactly where to go to get some insight on how climate change has and is affecting the First Nations. We connected with our experts by emailing, phoning and even talking face to face with a few people that had grown up being very close to nature, being First Nation.
My group has found out a lot about the ceremonies of Mohawk people (ex. The Strawberry Festival) and how these ceremonies really connect with nature, and how Climate Change is affecting those ceremonies. We have also found out just how much climate change has made traditions such as hunting and fishing difficult.
Our conclusion was that Climate Change has really affected the First Nations. As people with a love and admiration for nature, seeing it deteriorate right in front of their eyes is a very hard thing to watch for them.

This is a great question. How do the Mohawk relate to the land — to the place where they live — and are their things you/we can learn from this.
