Global Warming is currently causing temperatures to rise. Will these rising temperatures endanger the elderly? Some medications and/or illnesses can damage a citizen's natural cooling methods, such as sweating. The elderly are more prone to taking medication and/or having an illness than any other citizen. In addition, senior citizens are also more vulnerable to the heat, not being able to cope with temperature changes as much as younger citizens.
If a senior citizen cannot cool off, they may find themselves at risk of heat exhaustion or heat stroke, the former of which can cause discomfort such as nausea and vomiting, and the latter of which can cause death or disability.
