Public Health in Toronto

-How might the raise in temperature affect the spread of diseases?

-How will reducing greenhouse gas emissions improve public health

Agincourt is currently trying to figure this out by researching online on reliable sources. We are also communicating and sharing ideas.

-reducing climate change will affect human health, simple things such as riding a bicycle or walking, opposed to driving, can improve health by increasing exercise.

-the chances of being bitten by a mosquito and contracting disease will be lower

Reliable sources (David Suzuki Foundation)

This is relatable to the effects on public health of climate change

All very great inquiry questions. I'm interested in the health of Ontarios public as well, so I can't wait to see what your final product has to tell us. Maybe once you tell the public about the dangers of their own health, they will question themselves while driving, when they could have walked. People will start thinking about their own health, and this will promote them to make a change.

Which diseases might spread more due to climate change?

I just posted and will be updating a blog focusing on the Zika Virus which is unfortunately only one of the many diseases spread because of climate change. Others in my group will also be posting about diseases such as malaria that is caused by the increase of breeding mosquitoes in warmer temperatures.

Great topic. Just watching the TV news ... there are very real concerns about Zika virus moving towards Canada because of climate change.
