Meat is great. It provides us with protein that we need everyday, and there are millions of different ways to present it. However, the amount of energy required and emissions created by it is a huge problem. Coming up with food to feed the animals, methane produced by the livestock, and of course the transportation costs. As of now, it contributes to 28% of all emissions. The best scenario is for people to just stop eating meat altogether, but of course that's impossible to do currently. One way to help reduce emissions released during the production process is to purchase locally grown/raised food. This will help to cut down on the transportation emissions. Furthermore, it takes less time to arrive to its destination, so less processing will be required to keep the food fresh. Are there any other ways to further reduce our emissions from food production?

There is no way I'm going vegetarian, let's face it. But still a great topic, and great research!
