Future Climate in the 6ix

Apr 12, 2016 by Adrian Shahrivar

In 1937 the warmest weather was recorded at 45 degrees Celsius in Canada. Many people were diagnosed with heat strokes and noted thin air that was hard to breathe. Imagine living that day. That nightmare is a soon to be reality. With global warming affecting our climate and all the pollution and greenhouse gasses, summer days are expected to reach 44 degrees in Toronto by 2050. Not only does that cause hotter days but it also affects our health drastically in a negative way. Heat waves are expected to rise to 2-3 per season. This means more people will be diagnosed with heat strokes. It also affects our agriculture by causing a drought and not providing us with a usable food and resources.  This also causes less precipitation with up to 10 days less of rain. To conclude, the rising temperatures have massive negative effects to our future by affecting our climate, health and agriculture. We can and should slow down the rate of the rising temperature by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pollute less.

Great job on your blog!

Its good how you included the effects of climate change and what we can do to reduce it. Maybe in your statement you can include how most of Canada will not be suitable by the year of 2080.
