Air pollution includes greenhouse gases, one of these is carbon dioxide, a common part of the exhaust from cars and trucks.Air pollution from cars and trucks is split into primary and secondary pollution. Primary pollution is emitted directly into the atmosphere; secondary pollution results from chemical reactions between pollutants in the atmosphere. Cars and trucks contribute to greenhouse gases, which warm the earth fast and unnaturally. This issue is leading to climate change, which is affecting our community in many different ways like flooding, shorter winters and unbelievably hot summers. How can we stop this? I have an idea! The Province of Ontario is reducing emissions from transportation by promoting the adoption of battery electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. A shift to low- and zero-emission vehicles is vital to the fight against climate change and an important opportunity for technological innovation. Modernized Electric Vehicle Incentive Program (EVIP) is a program that has been modernized to make EVs more affordable, provide additional incentives for vehicles with large batteries and greater capacity to carpool and to cap incentive amounts for luxury vehicles. By making these cars look good and more affordable, there will be raise in the demand for these vehicles. Not only will these vehicles be flashy on the street, but you can cruise around knowing that you are helping to prevent any further climate change effects within your community and the world. EVIP is modernizing these vehicles and this will hopefully get more people to buy them, which will then help create the low-carbon Ontario that we desperately want and need.

I definately agree! Its kind of ridiculous because big manufacturers act like they are trying to encourage more efficent ways of cutting down our pollution, yet battery power cars are more expensive than ones that run on gas. If electric vehicles were to become more affordable than I agree that we would see a decrease in carbon emissions.
