I found out that our water is changing fast. Water flows in the summer have gotten very low (less than 6m3/s). With more snow melting into the river during the winter, there is less runoff for the spring freshet. Heavy rainfall will lead to more flooding throughout the year and it will also increase the risk of waterborne diseases, such as Salmonella and E. Coli. As water levels decline there will be conflicts between individuals or groups and our local governments are going to have to decide on priorities for water use within the watersheds.
