How are birds and their connection to the ecosystem threatened by Climate change?
Climate change is a large issue that everyone and every aspect of the environment is facing. Change in temperatures and weather patterns can have effects that range from minor to devastating for the environment and ecosystems. I chose to do research on the effects that climate change will have on birds, specifically songbirds, because I have background knowledge on the subject and the songbird population has faced environmental changes before (see Silent Spring by Rachel Carson.) Because of the specific conditions required for each species, songbirds are at risk for population damage and are a good indicator of the severity of the damage caused by climate change in an area.
