How climate change affects agriculture(blog #2)

Apr 10, 2016 by Gracie Downey

I learned about how climate change affected agriculture/farming. With temperature climbing causing less rainfall and more aggressive rainfall it can affect agriculture in multiple ways.

With no water we can’t grow plants, which means crops will fail, or there will be less crops, the soil will be dry and lacking nutrients.

When the precipitation is farther apart they are more intense, this has important implications for soil erosion and leaching of potential contaminates, fertilizers, herbicides, manure and pesticides from fields.

High temperature could affect weight gain in beef cows, lower milk production, lower conception rates in poultry and rabbits.
