Climate Change and Local Fisheries (#2)

Environment   Apr 11, 2016 by Brian Ellis-Legault

After doing research, i found that climate change will in fact have a significant effect on fisheries in The Mississippi Mills Watershed. Over the next fifty or so years, things will start to get rough.

I found that climate change will cause things like water temperature, water level, and waterflow to have negative effects on fisheries in our area. For example, the rising water temperatures will begin to start affecting the cold water species of fish, and eventually become too warm for them to adapt to.

The results of climate change for local fisheries won't be very good. I found this information on the green learing cool 2.0 website, on the weather network, and from the article "from impacts to adaptation".

Overall i've come to the conclusion that fisheries in our area will greatly suffer due to climate change and the affects that it's having on variables that are affecting our watershed.
