Although eating locally can help reduce carbon emissions, the transportation of food only makes a small percentage of the carbon footprint of food, only 11%. How the food is grown makes a larger percent, roughly 83%. A lamb that was raised by eating grass than the average UK lamb which are fed grains. This is because grains require more energy to grow. Similar comparisons can be made with other foods. People should try to eat foods that are grown organically.

Interesting facts but have you ever thought about why foods that are ''grown organically'' or "healthier foods" are more expensive versus ''junk foods'' or ''gmo grown foods'', What about people from low income families that would love to eat organically but don't have the funds to? How can we make it more affordable for them?
