When you hear about climate change, you immediately think of things like droughts due to the rise in temperature or the sea levels rising due to the melting of land ice. Did you know that climate change can affect our health by increasing the spread of diseases? It is important that we look into this aspect of climate change because it effects us directly.
There are 4 main causes that increase the spread of diseases.
- Extreme heat related illness
- Water-borne diseases due to severe weather
- Increase in vector-borne diseases
- Poor air quality
