At the beginning of this inquiry, we were asking a lot about topics including ice coverage on Manitoulin & local food production. We ended up focusing on local food production. This is a big topic, & an important one here on Manitoulin.
Because this is such a big topic, our class divided into groups focusing on different areas of local food production. My group focused on encouraging eating locally. I've never really thought about this idea before so this inquiry was eye opening for me. Eating locally can make huge, positive impacts to our health & environment. In the long run, as I think we all discovered today, local food production is the healthiest, most sustainable option for the earth & us as people, too.
