Pollen seasons are lasting longer causing higher pollen levels, causing longer allergy seasons and greater exposure to aeroallergens which are pollen and spores in the air that cause allergic responses. Also parts of Canada that were once to cold for allergy-inducing plants are seeing activity for the first time. Asthma and allergy rates are on the rise across Canada. In Toronto the most common allergy is ragweed causing many people to face asthma-related symptoms.
