Problem: Climate change is making it worse for people with allergies and asthma

With climate change coming into more of an effect, it can increase the temperature of the earth and cause more heat related deaths. Also, existing respiratory, circulatory, and nervous systems will worsen. Already, there is nearly 50% of Canadians that suffer from hay fever, and with the effects of climate change it can cause the hay fever season last longer than what it should. Higher carbon dioxide levels can increase plant growth and pollen production; the allergens in the air will increase which means that exposure can result in more severe allergies. With all of these substances in the air, people with asthma are more likely to be triggered by this. Some triggers for asthma include: dust, animals, moulds, pollen, viral infections, and certain air pollutants. Around 250 Canadians die yearly from asthma and most of these deaths could be prevented. The provincial government should regulate a law that says you can only start your car when you are in it and you can not sit in your car and wait for it to warm up. If anybody catches somebody doing this, they should call the government so that they can give the person doing this a fine for $50 every time they do it.
