How might air pollution caused by climate change affect individuals with respiratory issues?

From a personal standpoint, i have a mom with very serious asthma and polluted air would make her life a bit more difficult. Also climate change would bring in hotter summers which isn't very good for people with asthma. Most times in the news over the summer; sometimes there are "extreme heat alerts" and when they advise it, they warn that people with respiratory issues stay home because it could cause an asthma attack. Over the march break, i learned that Toronto has officially become coal-free since 2014. coal is one of the biggest contributors of air pollution. A few years back in Toronto there were many smog days but in the summer of 2014, it has been smog-free. by Toronto taking this action, people with health issues could finally have a breath of fresh air.

Canada has an action plan on climate change and air pollution. Check it out here at this link: http://www.ec.gc.ca/doc/media/m_124/brochure/BR_c1...
