How can we improve our health care system in Toronto to help with the negative health effects caused by climate change?

Our health care system needs to turn its head to the health effects that are being caused directly by climate change. This affects children, seniors, chronically ill, low income, homeless people , disabled people and many more. It is said that Torontonians should expect a wide range of health effects that will lead to many diseases in the near future. Temperature related morbidity and mortality, weather-related natural hazardous, air quality, water, vector-borne disease, zoonotic disease and exposure to UV rays. The health care system needs to promote effective solutions to people who are affected by climate change. It is in our best interest to be concerned for the safety of our citizens. There are many non-profit organizations that are promoting this cause but cannot do anything but cause awareness to these issues.
