We researched the effects that climate change has on tourism and recreation. We came to the unfortunate conclusion that the warmer climate is helping some industries of tourism, while hindering others. For example, the Sandbanks Provincial Park has had around 750,000 visitors in the past year, however, in this next year they are forecasting for there to be over 1,000,000 tourists visiting there. The winter tourism industry is being negatively impacted to quite a severe extent. If we don't change our ways in which we produce greenhouse gases there likely won't be any winter skiing season at all in the next 50 years. Much of our information about winter recreation is based upon the findings of the David Suzuki Foundation's article, "On Thin Ice".

Interesting ... why is Sandbanks Provincial Park projecting such a large increase in visitors in 2016?
