The Effects of Climate Change on Tourism

Environment   Apr 6, 2016 by Darian

A large amount of Gananoque’s income is tourism. With global warming effecting the weather, I predict that it could affect our income from tourism. Many companies rely on tourists in the summer (Ex. Nana Splits). With the temperature raising by about 4 degrees in the next 35 years, I predict the warmth of Gananoque could turn people away. Without the income of tourism, the rate of unemployment could go up, and the amount of people needing social assistance such as welfare would sky rocket.

Question: How will the Boat Line be effected compared to the restaurant business in Gananoque?

Many areas that are far hotter than Gan have excellent tourist industries. Can you create abusiness idea that would capitalize on extra heat to make the tourism here flourish instead of suffer? Climate change can be lowed, but not likely reversed, so we're getting this extra heat.

Do you have contacts at the Boat Line and restaurants to get information?
