State of local food production

Apr 18, 2016 by Patrick Smith

I was in the group that researched the current state of local food production in Ontario. We found a lot of information about what we produce. We produce tons o food that we can use but export a lot of it to other places in the world while we still shipped in a lot of food that we can't grow here but is also not essential to our diet. We also found out that there are thousands of farms in Northern Ontario that produce millions of dollars. We also found out that only 4.35% of farms in Ontario are in Northern Ontario. In general we found that while we produce a lot of local food we need to produce more if we want to support ourselves.

This is an interesting theory, what could we do to produce more local food?
