INQUIRY FINDINGS: BLOG #2

Mar 22, 2017 by Stehanie

For all of the information I found, I did research on the internet and based on observation seen in the last couple of months. When I was taking the bus this summer to work everyday there will be a lot of traffic on Eglinton due to construction. At first I did not know what it was but as i paid more and more attention it was due to the making a metrolinx. Through knowing that I knew where I could begin my research, some of the information I found was the construction will be done by 2020, it is used to help expand people using public commute, a way to get across the city faster and many more. Another research I did was on the Toronto Transit Commission (ttc) as I heard some rumors about expanding the subway lines. Not only that but i felt that the ttc is the most common way of transportation in the city and something people tend to complain about. Some of the interesting facts I found was they started their construction about two years ago near York University. Not only that but i was able to find a picture of how which line they are expanding and how many stops they are adding in addition to the one’s we currently have. During this research I focused it on a lot on the transportation aspect rather than the infrastructure because I felt that was more important to me since I use the ttc quite regularly.

Hello, that's great research findings! How will the new transit expansions help to slow down the effects of climate change in Toronto?
