Climate Change and the Health of Local Forests (Blog #1)

Environment   Apr 7, 2016 by Greta Hanneman

The predicted (climate) changes in air temperature, precipitation and evapotranspiration are going to effect the health of our local forests. Dryer climits will make it more difficult for the plants to retain water, the lack of winter damage kills sensitive trees, the rise in rainfall with melt the layer of snow that protects the soil/animals, there will be more opportunity for invasive species and the amount of dry deadfall could cause a forest fire.

Poor trees! I'd hate to see them go. Wonderful research.
