Forest Fires -Question/answer #3

Question: How would the drying index react to the heat?

Answer:

The drying index doesn’t really affect the heat; the pressure of the atmosphere and where the wind comes from (the Westerlies), so a wind coming from the East would actually be better in the case of drying. The east wind doesn’t blow off of Lake Ontario when the West wind does which means when the wind comes from the West it keeps the air moist.
