What are the benefits of local food production.

Some of the benefits of local food production are that people know where their food comes from, and for me living on a small island, we have farms with about 100-150 cows on them so to me that tells me that they are more individually cared for. We all would know how the food was prepared and should know that there is less risk of diseases rapidly spreading.

Knowing that my food is coming from someone I know and trust to take care into each portion they give me helps me not worry so much about diseases or flus spreading and harming me or my family.
